52. Pease Park

Family Friendly, Free things to do in Austin, Outside, Things To Do In Austin | 21 Feb 2010

In light of all the news surrounding the city recently I figured today, now that the clouds have parted I would blog on something simple, something that reminds us of what this city is all about and all the little things that it has to offer. . . Pease Park.

It central located just south west of the University so you will find everyone from college students playing volleyball, to bikers, and families playing on the playground. It is one of the places where all different faces of Austin come together to enjoy the city and the great outdoors.

You can find yourself doing anything from BBQing, playing disc golf, enjoying the playground or hiking along some of the Shoal Creek Greenbelt.

It is also a popular site for various Austin festivals; both the Jazz Festival and Eeyore’s Birthday Party are held here. Eeyore’s 47th Birthday is April 24th, 2010. For those who are curious Eeyore’s birthday is a celebration of hippies, costumes, drum circles and all things Austin all coming together once a year at Pease Park. Keep Austin Weird.

Location:
