This is the start of one of my favorite weeks to call myself an Austinite, Austin Restaurant Week. Today, February 28 – Wednesday, March 3 and next Sunday, March 7- next Wednesday, March 10^th the Spring 2010 installment of this semi-annual event.

This event allows participants to eat at some of the city’s finest establishments for fixed prices.
Lunch $10-$15
Dinner $25-$35

Restaurants come up with a fixed menu that participants can order from. All participating restaurants offer three-course dinner menus.  The price for the three course meal is a fraction of the price that you would pay any other time. They menus normally consist of old favorites as well as different menu items to give the chefs an opportunity to try out new things.

5% of all Restaurant Week sales will be going to the Sustainable Food Center of Austin.

You can pick up maps at all participating restaurants and at several local businesses around town.
