66. Moonshine
Restaurants, Things To Do In Austin | 7 Mar 2010Hands down, one of the best Sunday Brunches in town – no contest. For that down home, southern comfort food that takes you back classic American cooking, Moonshine is the spot. They didn’t just get Sunday Brunch right they got it all right - they do not disappoint.
I will start with the Sunday Bunch beginning each Sunday Morning at 10:00 lasting until 2:30 – an all you can eat smorgasbord of breakfast goodness. It is worth the wait and the $15.95 price tag.
The rest of menu all I can say is, “foodies, rejoice.”Any meal makes you have there will have leaving wishing your stomach had room for one more bite. Do not leave without trying the corn bread and at least looking over the dessert menu.
I am not the only one who things they are one of the Best Hot Spots for good dining in town in 2009 in the Austin Chronicle named them Best Sunday Bunch, Best Buffet, and Best American Food – plus Honorable Mention for Best Appetizer , Best Comfort Food, and Best Place to Take Parents.
Happy Hour : Monday – Friday 3:30 – 6:30.
The atmosphere (charming, classic, historic), the food from Brunch to dinner – it really is the whole package and a true Austin treasure. On top of all this it has indoor and outdoor dining – another plus. You cannot get more down home than a place who still serves drinks out of a mason jar – clearly I love the little things!
All this being said, there is most likely going to be a wait, so prepare yourself. But at the end of the day it is well worth it and is Classic Austin, try it.
