69. Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum
Family Friendly, Outside, Things To Do In Austin | 10 Mar 2010Rest up Austin because we have a big, big weekend and upcoming week or so in store for us! One of the best times to call yourself an Austinite. That is why today I am suggesting something not requiring too much energy.
This weather reminds me that it is almost Spring in Austin, lucky us! It is the perfect weather to get outside and enjoy something different. The Umlauf Sculpture Garden is located across from Zilker Park and features sculptures by 20th Century American sculpture Charles Umlauf and other contemporary sculptures.
***They have internet so feel free to bring your computer to the gardens, relax and enjoy the wireless access.
Each year in April they have the Annual Garden Party – the 12th one will be happening this year on April 22nd. This party has been named by the Austin Chronicle as the “Best Outdoor Fundraiser.” The proceeds from the party help to preserve the garden and the museum’s education programs. The party features live music, dancing, food, wine, and silent auction.
It does cost $3.50 to get in – CASH ONLY!
Hours:
Wednesday-Friday 10:00am – 4:30pm
Saturday – Sunday 1:00 – 4:30
Location:
