121. Pecan Street Festival
Family Friendly, Festivals, Free things to do in Austin, Live Music, Outside, Things To Do In Austin | 1 May 2010Its Pecan Street Festival Weekend and it’s the 32nd Annual Celebration – bottoms up Austin. This bi-Annual FREE arts and craft festival is a 6th Street Tradition. Its not just any festival, it’s the largest Art Festival in Central Texas attracting over 300,000 people per event each year! The Pecan Street Festival benefits local charities & the Old Pecan Street Association.
Local musicians play on five stages, like I have said before what is a festival without live music, we are in Austin, Texas after all, the live music capital of the world. Come one, come all – FREE admission bring in everyone some seeking the latest art, home décor and cowboy hats others come for the food and music. This is an Austin tradition that both kids and adults enjoy as there is something for everyone.
For a lineup of the bands visit: http://www.oldpecanstreetfestival.com/festival-categories/. List item #99, The Eggmen are playing at 3:30 on Saturday plus many other local bands.
It goes without saying this is a great event celebrating all things Austin and a must do for the weekend.
If you can it would be advised to walk, bike, or take public transportation as we all know parking downtown can be a challenge.
