124. STOMP at the Paramount Theatre
Family Friendly, Random Fun, Things To Do In Austin | 4 May 2010It is about time that I blog on the Paramount because they always have great shows. STOMP spoke to me because I am a lover of a great dance show maybe it is because I have absolutely zero sense of rhythm and I watch with total envy but they just fascinate me.
Tonight is Opening Night of this highly acclaimed performance after it is back in Austin by popular demand. It is an crazy combination of rhythm and dance along with brooms, garbage cans, and matchboxes, apparently even bananas – a must see.
For those that are not familiar with the idea behind STOMP, the street performances originally started to “find music in the everyday noise the people usually try to block out and ignore.” Needless to say it has created a phenomenon and for me an appreciation for the talent involved.
Random STOMP fact – it has been an answer on Jeopardy!
