151. Austin Wine & Music Festival
Family Friendly, Festivals, Live Music, Outside, Things To Do In Austin | 31 May 2010Happy Memorial Day, for those of you wine (and beer) drinkers that still have the energy for one more day of fun in the sun this is your event. The Austin Wine & Music Festival combines basically all good things Austin, wine, food, good music, arts, crafts and of course beer.
My mouth is watering with all the great things that are being offered. I would be happy with just the array of local wines but I am a foodie at heart so the fact that The Salt Lick, Fired Up Kitchen, Chedd’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese (only in Austin), Mambo Berry, and many more will be there just get me so excited.
I often forget that we live in Hill Country and that means there are countless local vineyards – I love going local. This is just a great opportunity where over 20 of them come together so you can test out several different wines and hopefully find a few new favorites that are brewed locally!
A portion of all proceeds go to the Sustainable Food Center and Texas National Guard Family Support Foundation.
Music Line up:
1:10 Memorial Day Flag Rising
1:15 Emory Quinn
2:30 Josh Grider Trio
4:30 Radney Foster
**I try to offer a variety of free events and I realize that this is one for the more expensive ones but it sounds really fun! The way I see it is the wristbands get you started with your wine tasting and include some great live music! Some great clients of me texted me yesterday after leaving and said it is fantastic and well worth the price of admission.
