It is no wonder that we are the live music capital of the world; here we are with another summer free concert series bringing us another thing to love about Austin. Tonight we will be kicking of the 20th season of Blues on the Green; one of Austin’s longest running free music series.

Come out for a night of great music and plenty of food from a lot of your favorite local vendors including Amy’s Ice Cream, Freebird’s, Stubb’s BBQ, Good Pop, Salt Lick and many more. This is another classic Austin event, almost as classic at the Bat’s, County Line BBQ, The Texas Tower or First Thursday. So, bring out your family and friends to make an evening of it all.

For all of you Blues on the Green addicts, text “Blues” to 68704 to join the Blues on the Green alert club and get access to exclusive information and contests!

What all should you bring? Blankets, lawn chairs, dogs on leashes, sunscreen, 2 sealed water bottles, friends, and family are all things you should be sure to bring to this concert series!

Blues on the Green is every other Wednesday night from tonight until August 18th.Tonight we will get this year’s season started with the Texas Tornados. The Austin-American Statesman declared ‘Tex-Mex rock, conjunto, country, blues, swamp pop, polkas — the glorious musical mash-up that was the hallmark of the Texas Tornados is still alive and well.”

Time: Shows start at 7:30 **this is a rain of shine event, if the weather does become dangerous tune into KGSR for updates.

As always, the parking issue. Public parking is available either across the street by the Barton Springs pool or the big lot off of Stratford Drive by the Mopac Bridge. In addition, free parking will available at the One Texas Center after 5pm.
