170. Califa Arts Collaborative

Family Friendly, Free things to do in Austin, Live Music, Random Fun, Things To Do In Austin | 19 Jun 2010

I heard about this even from a blog follower a few months ago.  Their cause and what they are trying to accomplish is very inspiring. Plus, it is also a free event, you cannot beat free fun on a Saturday.

Califa Arts Collaborative is a collection of artists inspiring unity in the Austin art world. They are “being driven by the desire to make art more accessible to everyone.”  The show has brilliant choreography done by some of the best talent in Austin. I am not a dancer so me describing the styles and details would not do them any justice.

Advice: get there early to guarantee seats! The theater is small only 50 seats as they wanted to have an intimate feeling.  Seating is “first come, first serve.”

This is such a great opportunity because it a chance to see some of the city’s fantastic talent for FREE! The show includes dancers from all over Austin, including Ballet Austin. It is not often that we have a chance to see a show like this, little things like this make Austin, well just so Austin.

Show times:
6:30pm and 9:00pm

Location:
Salvage Vanguard Theater
2803 Manor Road
Austin, Texas 78722
