What a Saturday we had, who has the energy for some Sunday Funday action? Numerous blog followers have suggested that going to a Texas Rollergirls Rollerderby matchup is a must do, well with the 2010 season winding down next month I thought I would blog on it today so in case you cannot make it tonight you can plan ahead for next time.

The rollergirls formed in 2003 and became an Austin sporting sensation and that’s hard to between UT football and the Round Rock Express. This is a true athletic shakedown, more than I can handle and I am pretty good athletic. This is more than your traditional roller derby, it has been updated with a rock and roll, Texas twist. As their website calls it, “WWE meets burlesque meets X-games” and there is no better analogy so I am just going to go with theirs’. Now if that isn’t enough to get you in the door, nothing I say is.

Austin’s All Women’s flat track roller derby league is ranked #2 in the nation, that is something to be proud of. Beyond being phenomenal  and extremely entertaining  to watch they encourage others to get involved, love their fan base and are just a great organization here in town.
