The last few weekends, I’ve  found that Austin Theater is the perfect addition to any summer weekend. Every year, students from across the state are able to work with local and national professionals to put on a couple one-of-a-kind musicals! Some performers even have Broadway experience.

“Cabaret” is currently playing, and starting next week, they’ll be performing “Sweet Charity.” The shows run through August 7^th.

By the way, are you looking for good eats this week? How about trying Pluckers (South Lamar Location) Tuesday to help benefit Summer Stock Austin. The non-profit organization will recieve 20% of your food purchase. The Profit Share runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., so there’s plenty of time to stop by!

Austin is a city that loves and embraces the arts, so don’t miss this opportunity to support great local theater this summer! Plus,  if you haven’t had a chance to see a show at the new Long Center, GO! I’ve been several times since it was redone and have been blown away by the one-of-a-kind views of the downtown Austin skyline.
