As far as going out and discovering new great things about Austin, it just didn’t happen for me this weekend. I needed a few days to relax, recuperate and let my body catch up. That brings me to a Monday night favorite: Dollar Lone Stars at Barton Springs Saloon.

Apparently, most of Austin has already gotten the memo about this great deal on Monday nights, because it normally brings out a pretty decent-sized crowd.  Dollar Lone Stars served in a pretty laid-back, casual atmosphere make Barton Springs Saloon the perfect end to a Monday.

This quote is on their website– I don’t know where it came from or who said it– but it pretty much sums up the vibe perfectly, “Barton Springs Saloon is an OLD bar, a throwback to a time when professionals, college students, legislators and locals met and mingled at a watering hole with unique character and Austin style.”

I think Monday nights get the most action and would be the time to check it out.
