215. Viva Chocolato!
Bars / Happy Hour, Live Music, Things To Do In Austin | 3 Aug 2010It’s about time I venture north of the river, which brings me to one of the best places in Austin to feed your sweet tooth. I consider myself a connoisseur of sweets, so for those of you who need a new dessert and wine place in town– look no further. In my opinion, wine and chocolate is far superior to wine and cheese…(Not that I’d ever turn down the latter if offered, of course.)
No, you didn’t step into Little Italy, though you might be confused by the ambiance and organic Gelato they serve. There are few things better than a guilt-free evening of chocolate goodness. Add wine, and what more can one ask for? If it’s live music, they often have that, as well.
They have everything and more from what I’d like to call a “chocolate bar.” The wine and chocolate pairings are a must-try. My mouth was filled with flavors I never knew existed. This is definitely gourmet chocolate. I don’t know how to put into words what makes their chocolate so fantastic, so I’m just going to say it renders me speechless.
I think it’s great spot for a bachelorette brunch, a place to take mom, a girl’s night out, a romantic little date or even a “I had a bad day, need sweets” stop. Major props to the staff who are very knowledgeable and friendly.
It’s worth mentioning this isn’t the cheapest chocolate in town, but you’re paying for quality and trust me, quality is what you get. Even with that said, I can sum up by saying this locally owned shop has really gotten things right. I have zero complaints. Chocoholics: Come one, come all!
