220. Shark Week at Alamo Drafthouse
Things To Do In Austin, Uncategorized | 8 Aug 2010I hate to say this, but I may be the only person on planet Earth that doesn’t truly appreciate Shark Week. What is it about Shark Week that makes everyone have a sudden interest in the Discovery Channel and the marine world?
Sadly for shark fans though, the week is winding down, and then you’ll have to wait another year to get your fix. For those who can’t get enough and want to end on a high note, leave it to Alamo Drafthouse to come up with a perfect way to celebrate this once-a year-event.
They have three different shark shows to choose from today:
Shark Week: THE SHARK IS STILL WORKING
1 p.m.
This documentary details the ways that JAWS has helped to shape pop culture. Out of the three choices, I must admit it does sound pretty interesting.
Shark Week: JAWS
7 p.m.
No explanation needed, one of the greatest movies ever made. It even has its own ride at Universal Studios!
HeckleVision: MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS
10:15 p.m.
This is just for good fun- look at the title. It’s an opportunity to laugh at the movie. The creators of the film will be at the theater to take part in the mockery!
Location:
Alamo Drafthouse Downtown
