227. Austin Fashion Week

Random Fun, Things To Do In Austin | 15 Aug 2010

In honor of my best friend since first grade, I must blog on Austin Fashion Week as she left the Lone Star State after high school to pursue fashion in the Big Apple, so Happy Fashion Austin.

Last night was the official kickoff party to Austin Fashion Week and today all the fun starts.

If I had to pick one event to suggest today add some spice to your Sunday I would say a good start to Fashion Week would be the Keep Austin Beautiful Show at the Austin Museum of Art. I like this one because local designers transform recycled materials into wearable works of art. I strive to do my best to recycle and keep Austin clean so for some odd reason I think this would be really cool and fun to see. Plus, at some level its promoting recycling, cool. This is one of the cheaper shows that I have seen, $10 and members of AMoA $5. For more information on this show visit: http://www.fashionweekaustin.com/events/keep-austin-beautiful-fashion-show/.

Calling all shoppers, fashionistias, people with style seeking style this is your week. This week will have over 100 events, 57 Showcase Designers paired with retailers, salons, spas, trunk shows, parties, fashion shows. Basically, if it involves fashion in Austin, Texas this is the week to find it. All and all another awesome week to be an Austinite.

For all the information and to see a list of all the official Austin Fashion Week events visit:

Unfortunately, I may not be the most fashionable person, so for anyone out there that knows a thing or two about fashion week or great events/parties that might make a good list item, let me know!
