We are in Austin, so of course we celebrate our bats. If you ask me, this is the perfect way to spend the last Saturday before Austin ISD heads back to school on Monday.
Today the Congress Street bridge will be backed with over 150 booths including arts, crafts, music, jewelry, pottery, stained glass, food, bat watching, children’s activities and educational displays.
Bats Fly: Between 8:00-9:30pm. Some Austin Bat Trivia:: between 1.5 and 2 million Mexican Free Tail bats call Austin home during the summer.
This city loves to celebrate the bats, if you recall we had Night of the Bat at list item #157 and that was a list item favorite. For those that have not seen the bats fly, this is a “must do” as it is always on my mom’s list when she comes and visits me.
