252. Zhi Tea End of Summer Bash
Family Friendly, Free things to do in Austin, Live Music, Outside, Random Fun, Things To Do In Austin | 9 Sep 2010I figure by now we’ve recovered from the holiday weekend, had enough of the rain and are ready to get out and be a little social. There’s no better reason to leave the house than an anniversary party with free food, free booze and live music. Come one, come all!
I’m not the biggest tea lover, but for those that do enjoy a nice cup of tea, this should be right up your alley. You may have seen Zhi Tea at local farmers markets as well, and rumor is once you’ve tried it you’ll never look at tea the same way again.
The Zhi Tea 3rd Anniversary Party and summer bash will feature past list item and local Austin favorite Rio’s Brazilian, as well as Best Wurst and Pie Fixes Everything. And for another real treat Tready Oak Rum will be there, which is a locally owned and operated company I recently discovered. It’s some of the best rum I’ve ever had. I would buy it even if wasn’t a local Austin company, but the fact that it is makes it even better.
Speaking of the beverages, Graham’s Texas Tea will be there — also locally owned and operated — and they make some of the best sweet tea vodka in Central Texas. I had been hearing about it for a while but finally tired it, and it definitely lived up to all the excitement. The cool thing about the relationship between Zhi Tea and Graham’s Texas Tea is that Zhi was instrumental in helping pick the tea to use in Graham’s recipe. It’s a rare occasion when I get to brag on some great local liquors, so I thought now would be the perfect time. They’re definitely a part of what makes Austin so unique.
The event will go on rain or shine. They’ll even have prizes, and who doesn’t love a give-a-way? So stop by for a good Texas party!
Kids welcome.
