261. Frankenstein: The Trouble Puppet Show

Random Fun, Things To Do In Austin | 18 Sep 2010

First off – this is not a puppet show for children as no one under 12 years old will be admitted into the theater. I thought I better get that out there before I forget.

I’ve been wanting to blog on this for some time now because I think the concept is oddly fascinating. Every time I read about this I think of the movie “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and Peter doing the “Dracula” puppet show and musical.

For the Muppet Show and Kermit the Frog lovers out there that have grown up, this dark, twisted adaptation of the classic novel Frankenstein should be right up your alley.

This is such a truly unique take on a classic novel that I think it would be best described as a chilling, yet remarkable experience.

We certainly are a city that embraces the arts in all different forms, and this is another prime example of something cool that might seem a little off the beaten path.

And if Frankenstein is not your cup of tea, check back for their next production as it is sure to be just as entertaining.

I wanted to wait until October to blog about this because I think the darkness and spookiness would couple well with Halloween, but the show only runs through Oct. 3rd.

Time: 8:00pm

When Thursdays-Sundays through Oct. 3rd.

Tickets – $10.00 – $15.00

Location:
Salvage Vanguard Theater
2803 Manor Road
Austin, Texas 78721

Hey, thanks so much for blogging about Trouble Puppet! And if you’d like to use a pic from Frankenstein itself (rather than The Jungle) with your post, I’ll be glad to send along a couple of good images.
