263. Arcade UFO

Random Fun, Things To Do In Austin | 20 Sep 2010

This is one of those little Austin treasures that I’ve been meaning to blog on for some time now. It’s one of those things that makes me wonder what it would have been like to grow up back when arcades and comic book stores ruled the world.

If you closed your eyes and pictured what you would expect from an arcade, this is it – coin operated and all. It takes me back to the days that I used to pass Einstein’s Arcade on the drag.

Arcade UFO has a bunch of classic games, as well as some of the latest and greatest. Here’s is a list of some of their featured games:http://www.arcadeufo.com/arcade.php. I must admit, I am more of a pinball machine person, but the novelty of Austin’s only coin-operated arcade is pretty exciting.

Planning ahead? The Fantastic Fest Arcade tournament takes place September 23-26th. They will have parties, happy hours, game demos, video game tournaments and much, much more.
