267. Fourth Friday

I recently learned about the excitement of Fourth Friday thanks to many of you blog followers. Tonight will be my first Fourth Friday experience and I’m pretty pumped! From what I’ve gathered this seems to have the same feeling as First Thursday on South Congress, but with a greater emphasis on art.

Fourth Friday takes place along E 11th just east of IH35 in the heart of the up-and-coming art district of Austin. This area centers around some of the best and must culturally diverse art offerings of Austin.

This is an East Austin block party at its finest – bringing together good times, good people and great art. We can thank DiverseArts for helping to facilitate and put together this monthly activity. If you want a deeper look into some of the heart and soul of Austin this is the perfect opportunity. This event combines local artists, live music and fun for both kids and adults.

In an effort to try new things, tonight I will find myself at Fourth Friday and I hope that you will also give it a shot.
