289. German-Texan Heritage Society Oktoberfest

Family Friendly, Festivals, Live Music, Random Fun, Things To Do In Austin | 16 Oct 2010

It’s official beer-drinking month across the globe, so we better get to celebrating.

If there’s anyone that knows about beer drinking, it’s Germans. They invented Octoberfest, and my thought is that the German-Texan Heritage Society is going to know how to celebrate.

You are welcome to come in full costume. How many times a year are you going to be able to wear Lederhosen and Dirndls? Those that helped me celebrate my birthday Superhero-style know I love costumes.

Of course, the day will be focused around beer drinking and all the fun that comes with it. Beer will be provided by Spaten  and “The Best Wurst” will provide the food.

Live music provided by Walburg Boys, The Siekers, & the Polkadillos, which means there will be plenty of folk dancing.

They will also have plenty of children’s activities, along with a bounce house. Time to get in your best German get-up and join the party!
