297. City – Wide Garage Sale
Things To Do In Austin | 24 Oct 2010Antique Roadshow lovers, come one, come all! I wish I was someone who could truly appreciate garage sales and antiquing. Growing up there would be a neighborhood-wide garage sale every year. I would get so excited to ride my bike and find tons of new treasures, but I always lost interest after visiting a few homes. I wish I could get lucky enough to find the vintage dressers and antique jewelry that my friends always seem to find. Today’s list item is perfect for finding collectables - coins, jewelry, vintage books, paintings, records and postcards. The list is endless.
It’s a great place to get lost in on a Sunday afternoon. The vendors are always so nice. Important side note: even though ‘garage sale’ is in the name, not everything is priced to sell. “City-wide antique sale” may be a more appropriate description.
Like “La Garage” the best time to go is in the afternoon on Sunday because the vendors are ready to make a deal.
