I’ve been hearing about Austin Beer Week for ages now, and it has finally arrived. I think it’s the perfect prelude to Wurstfest coming up this weekend in New Braunfels.

I wish there was Austin wine week, as I am not much a beer drinker, but most of my friends will definitely appreciate what this week has to offer.

Each day, different venues will be holding a variety of tastings, food and movie pairings, dinners, happy hours, beer contests, beer education events - basically all things beer. It’s a great chance to get to know more about state and local breweries, and just beer in general!

For those that are new to Austin or don’t even know where to start, I would say the Draught House Pub and Brewery would be an excellent stop. They’re holding 17 events throughout the week, and in my opinion, they’re the city’s residential beer experts!
