Since it is the weekend before Thanksgiving, I decided to dedicate this weekend’s blogs to charity events in town. It seemed like a great weekend to highlight some cool events that benefit the community! Thank you Megan (who introduced me to Home Slice) and blog followers for offering “giving back/charity” suggestions for the weekend.

Saturdays in Austin don’t get much better than this! You get to eat Home Slice Pizza and support Habitat Young Professionals / Habitat for Humanity. I could eat Home Slice for days on end. It’s a force to be reckoned with. And like a good carnival, today’s fun will feature games, a DJ, music and breakdancers, as well as more pizza than you can imagine. They’ll also have awesome raffle prizes, including the right to make reservations at Home Slice for a year (they usually don’t take reservations, and the wait can be pretty long). If you haven’t had Home Slice, you’ll be hooked once you try it.

If you’ve dreamed of participating in an eating contest, here’s your chance. They’ll have a pizza eating contest, and a few other pizza-themed contests throughout the day.

Great food, great fun, great cause = great Saturday.
