334. Fried Green Tomato

Things To Do In Austin, Trailer Eatery | 30 Nov 2010
I was so excited about December events that it almost completely slipped my mind that today was Trailer Tuesday.

A few weeks ago I checked out this place, and it’s a winner. Anything “fried” normally gets a thumbs up in my book, so I’m not too surprised that this place passed the test. Their menu does change with the seasons, so I can’t guarantee anything that I had will be there when you give it a whirl, but it’s worth a shot. The BL(FG)T is what I got – your basic BLT with fried green tomatoes, and let me tell you that BLT’s will never be the same in my book again.

For those of you that don’t want to mess with an entire sandwich, you can just order fried green tomatoes with your choice of homemade dipping sauce. It’s their specialty, and they do them right.

They also serve root beer floats, which are always fun. I like it when I come across a trailer that has something random on the menu that reminds me of growing up. It just makes me smile! Root beer floats are good at any age.

Trailer food lovers who have not gotten the memo – the trailer eateries on South Congress (Hey Cupcake, Mighty Cone, ect.) will be relocating after the New Year because they are building a hotel there! I just wanted to remind you because I had some Mighty Cone this weekend (always a personal favorite) and I really hope they get their new location squared away soon.

I am running low on my list of Trailer Tuesday stops. If anyone has any suggestions of places I should try, lay them on me!
