335. Texas Aviation Celebration at the Bob Bullock Museum
Family Friendly, Museums, Things To Do In Austin | 1 Dec 2010It is officially December. I can’t believe where this year has gone!
I’m blogging today in honor of my father. He’s currently getting his pilot’s license, fulfilling a lifelong ambition, and he’s absolutely loving it! I think he’ll appreciate today’s blog much more than the average reader, but I do think there is something completely awe-inspiring about flying.
Since my knowledge of aviation history doesn’t expand much farther than Amelia Earhart and the Wright Brothers, I find this exhibit very interesting. They have large scale models of aircrafts, flight suits worn by Howard Hughes and Katherine Hepburn from the 1930’s, and much more. My favorite part might be the video simulator. They let you try your hand at flying a plane and a helicopter, and it’s a lot cooler than Microsoft Flight Simulator.
This exhibit has things that will fascinate people of all ages, and a trip to the Bob Bullock Museum is always an adventure.
