As a Longhorn and a Longhorn fan, I have to mention that — for those who didn’t get the memo — UT offensive coordinator Greg Davis has resigned and will not be returning to the program after the Longhorn’s first losing season since 1997. I have mixed feelings about it, but this isn’t a sports blog, so on to today’s “thing to do in Austin.”

I heard about this place just before Thanksgiving because people said they had some killer holiday pies. I finally checked it out for myself last Thursday when I was strolling around South Congress. To start off, friendly is an understatement – the staff could not have been any nicer! I’m not a huge pie lover, but I’m always willing to try new things. They have four-inch mini pies that they sell at the trailer, which are perfect for sampling. I took the safe bet and went with the “award-winning” buttermilk pie. I can see why it’s award winning. It’s awesome, and it only costs $4! You can’t beat that. The pies are all made in-house each day, and they sell them until they run out. They have tons of flavors that will please the pallet of any pie lover.
They also do holiday orders and special orders.
Hours: 11:30 a.m. – sell out

You may have noticed that Cutie Pie is open Wed-Sunday, but I felt since it was Trailer Tuesday, I should write on them anyway.
