345. Luminations at the Wildflower Center

Family Friendly, Festivals, Free things to do in Austin, Live Music, Outside, Things To Do In Austin | 11 Dec 2010
I had my first holiday party last night, so that got me in the mood to go holiday again today for the blog. Plus, today’s list item is free!
It benefits the Capital Area Food Bank, making it a great event to bring the whole family out to enjoy. With no Trail of Lights this year, this might be the best alternative in town.

The gardens at the Wildflower Center are currently decorated with over 3,000 luminarias and 5,000 twinkle lights, giving the gardens a glow like you’ve never seen before. Plus, there will be holiday music performed throughout the evening by local artists.

There’ll be vendors setting up serving holiday snacks — think apple cider, hot cocoa and plenty of baked goods.

This annual holiday party is the Wildflower Center’s way to say thank you to the community, and makes it easy for anyone to make a donation to the food bank! Each week the food bank serves about 48,000 central Texans.

Admission: FREE with two canned food items for the Capital Area Food Bank

When: today – tomorrow

Time: 6 – 9 p.m.
