20.11 Thursday Night Social Ride

Free things to do in Austin, Outside, Sporting Events, Things To Do In Austin | 20 Jan 2011

Today’s list item was too Austin not to blog about. Cycling polar-bear style, what’s not to love?  We certainly know how to Keep Austin Weird. We’re all familiar with polar bear swims that traditionally happen on January 1 each year. Well, Social Cycling Austin is bringing it on their bikes tonight.

Now is your chance to get out there, strip down and start cycling. This is a social ride, so anyone can come out for the fun. It’s a night full of laughs, socializing, birthday suits (might be a little extreme) and beer.

The “least clothed rider” wins a $25 gift certificate to Ozone bikes. Prizes also will be awarded for the “most appealing” and “most disturbing” attire.

Those that can endure the elements of a rather brisk bike ride can warm up with some FREE BEER at Gypsy Lounge following the ride.

The temperature is going to get chilly tonight, with lows in the low 30’s. I would say bundle up, but that’s not what we’re going for tonight.

Time: 7 p.m.

Location:
Plaza Saltillo
408 Comal Street
Austin, Texas 78702
