106.11 South First Art Walk

Family Friendly, Festivals, Free things to do in Austin, Museums, Things To Do In Austin | 16 Apr 2011

I needed a break from concerts today and this was the perfect alternative. It’s also in my neck of the woods, which is good. An afternoon art walk sounds oddly appealing, and it’s all about showcasing local artists and local businesses.

Each location along the art walk will have different artists. They’ll have music, food, drinks, jewelry, children’s activities — a little something for everyone.

The best way to plan your afternoon would be to visit the page and see what appeals to you the most. If you’re feeling adventurous, you also could just stroll down there and see where the day takes you. We couldn’t have asked for a better day to be outside roaming around South Austin!

Time: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Location:

South First Street – visit Facebook page for a full lineup.

South First IBIX District from South 2nd to Oltorf

So say I were to — hypothetically of course — stroll down just 3 or 4 blocks of the walk, would there be a particularly lively stretch to recommend?

Sounds like an awesome day — is this a once-a-year only thing?
