171.11 NASA Space Viewing Event

Family Friendly, Free things to do in Austin, Museums, Things To Do In Austin | 20 Jun 2011

You guys know how I love anything space-related, and with the end of the shuttle era, I thought this was a really cool opportunity.
Hundreds stopped by the Bob Bullock Museum on Sunday to check out the Orion as it made one of its three stops along the road from California to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It leaves tomorrow, so today is the last chance for Austinites to check out an actual spacecraft before it’s launched into the cosmos!

The Orion is eventually supposed to bring people home from the International Space Station, as well as travel to faraway destinations like the moon and even Mars. It’s not every day that something like this stops in Austin, so don’t miss out!

The museum will also have free educational activities from noon until 4 p.m.

Free

When: today

Time: 8 a.m.-7 p.m.

1800 Congress Avenue
