178.11 Barley Swine

Bars / Happy Hour, Restaurants, Things To Do In Austin | 27 Jun 2011

It should come as no surprise that Barley Swine is fantastic, as it was started by the same family that brought us Odd Duck and Jack Allen’s.
It’s definitely most similar to the Odd Duck, offering a collection of small, tapa-sized dishes that are nothing short of spectacular. The first time I went there I was back three times within a week-and-a-half!

With smaller portions, you can really go for variety and test out the menu. The menu is ever-changing, depending on the season. I think it makes it so that you never get bored. The only downside is sometimes I show up expecting to see my favorite menu item and it’s gone. Luckily, it’s usually replaced by something equally as delicious.

They also get all their ingredients from local farms, so besides the food being fantastic, you’re supporting local agriculture!
