193.11 Austin BMX and Skate Park

There are plenty of talents I wish I had, and singing and skateboarding are at the top of the list. I’ve got wakeboarding and wakeskating down, but no matter how much I practice, I’ve never been able to skateboard. Maybe this new park will give me some incentive to keep trying!

This newly opened, 30,000 square foot, state-of-the-art park is seriously awesome. It has everything a skater could want, with a bowl and plenty of streetscapes and rails for grinding. It’s like something you’d find in Tony Hawk’s backyard.

It’s such a cool addition to the city of Austin park scene, complete with murals by local artists and a piece of public artwork you can actually skate on!

The use of helmets and pads is not required but highly recommended. I would like to thank my friend, who is also a photographer, for this great picture of the skate park. Great shot, James!  http://jamesgrayson.com/photography/

I am a realtor here in Austin, and clients are always asking for suggestions on what to do around town. So, I thought I would blog about my experiences, recommendations and what you have to do before you can call yourself a true Austinite.
