208.11 Free Thursday at Blanton Museum of Art

Family Friendly, Free things to do in Austin, Museums, Things To Do In Austin | 28 Jul 2011

After my visit to the CowParade I was feeling inspired by all the talent that was on display, so I thought I would blog on free Thursday at the Blanton Museum of Art.

The museum is packed with fun events throughout the day, starting with “New Ways of Seeing Texture.” Families can discover art through materials that can be touched, such as clay, felt, foam, plaster and more.

10 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Family Activity: New Ways of Seeing Texture

10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  and 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Story Time Tour

12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Public Tour: About Face: Portraiture as Subject

Location:
MLK Blvd. at Congress
Austin, TX 78701
