Fall Stay-Cation Fun

Sponsored, Uncategorized | 11 Oct 2011

Sure, it’s October– but are you already longing for summer days filled with family time and relaxing get-a-ways– or did you miss out on a summer vacation this year?  Either way, there’s a local option for a ‘stay-cation’ you don’t have to wait for summer to enjoy.

A friend and I recently had a girls’ night at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, which is located 13 miles from Bastrop and is about 40-minute drive from downtown Austin.   It was a fantastic get-a-way, and I highly recommend the hot stone massage.  In fact, my friend, who is a spa aficionado, swears it was one of the best massages she has ever had and I agree.  On top of having an adult spa, the resort offers a “kid spa,” which I believe is a perfect touch for families.

The 405-acre grounds offer several activities. After my first trip, I went back a second time to find there was a classic car show, which was very cool.  I just can’t get over the fact that there is so much to do including, horseback riding, archery and trap shooting.  Lost Pines also has ‘Camp Hyatt’ for kids where they can participate in activities such as crafts, games and scavenger hunts while parents take some time for themselves.

In addition, there is lazy river, golf course, spa, gym, trails, disc golf and tennis– or you can do what I did and just sit on your patio and relax.  I definitely recommend Lost Pines if you are seeking a night out of Austin.

I would also like to add that my thoughts are with all the families of the resort employees that have been affected by the recent Bastrop fires.  When you use Offer Code WECARE to book a new reservation at the Hyatt for stays from now through December 30, 2011 they will donate $25 per night of your stay to the Bastrop Ministerial Alliance to aide the more than 1,500 families who lost their homes in these fires.
