347.11 Armadillo Christmas Bazaar

It’s already less than two weeks until Christmas! Where does the time go? It’s crazy, but that means it’s time for one of Austin’s favorite Christmas traditions — the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. Now in its 36th season, it’s a bazaar that manages to keep Austin bizarre and Christmas-y all at the same time.

The bazaar was originally started to give local musicians a warm, dry place to play during the Christmas season. But the live music combined with the Christmas market was hugely popular. It was only scheduled for two days that first year, but because of the overwhelming success, they extended it right up until Christmas Eve. In the following years, the attendance doubled, and today most of us can’t remember Christmas without it. This is something you must experience in Austin.

This is a great place to go finish your last minute shopping with friends. The full bar, live music and countless crazy Christmas knickknacks make for a fun evening for everyone.
