Are tall tales and wild stories your thing? If so, the Austin Liars’ Contest is exactly where you need to be this Saturday.

This event is definitely “Keeping Austin Weird.” This imaginative contest has grown each year and has become an afternoon of pure entertainment. Contestants are given eight minutes to share their story, the more outlandish, the better.

In the past they’ve had writers, attorneys, priests, politicians and police judge the contest. The judges grade each performance and decide who is this year’s best yarn-spinner.
