141.12 Foster A Pet with Austin Animal Shelter

Dog Friendly, Family Friendly, Free things to do in Austin, Things To Do In Austin | 21 May 2012

The Austin Animal Shelter is in dire need of help! The shelter is teetering dangerously close to full capacity, and they need to find more homes for their animals.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now would be a great time to head over there and maybe find a new addition to your family.

If you’re not in the market for a pet, you could always foster a dog until it finds a permanent home. I’ve had several friends foster animals, and they’ve said it was a great experience. For more information visit: http://www.austintexas.gov/department/foster-care.

You can also donate to the shelter. They’re always looking for pet treats, good toys, beds, newspaper, collars, leashes, bowls, crates and more.
