Restaurants, Things To Do In Austin | 30 Jul 2012

This must be one of Austin’s best kept secrets. I just discovered it about a week ago and am absolutely hooked. For sandwich lovers, this place is an absolute must try.

They’re probably one of the freshest places around town. All their soups, salads and sides are handmade from scratch; they pack their own pickles, bake their own bread and make their own mustard.

They’re located just north of campus in an old house off 34th Street. The entire setting is warm, welcoming, cozy and done perfectly. They have indoor and outdoor seating, which I always like for those perfect fall or spring days or summer evenings. It would be the perfect spot for a casual date or a breezy lunch with out of town guests.

This week we’re also giving out some gift cards, so two lucky followers can try it out for themselves!

Hours:
Monday – Wednesday   7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday – Saturday   7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Location:
616 W. 34th Street
Austin, Texas 78705

Chicken + Eggplant, no doubt about it. But then there are the fish tacos – they aren’t “sandwiches” but oh my goodness are they delicious too…

  • Rgibbs

Chicken and Eggplant or the Portabello one with the blackberry/balsamic reduction being a close second.  Been going there for years — can remember when Candy (that’s right, isn’t it?  The owner?) and I did Jazzercise together with Katie Gordon back in the day :)
