Bars / Happy Hour, Restaurants, Things To Do In Austin | 20 Aug 2012Salty Sow is one of the latest places on the east side to see and be seen. The food is fantastic, and they make a mean cocktail.
They have one of those menus where you need to order several small dishes, and all of them are awesome. Their menu has a little bit of everything. I highly recommend the J.L.T., duck fat fries and the crispy brussel sprouts, yum. I was dying to try the famed s’mores in a jar, but unfortunately that wasn’t on the menu that night. I will have to try them next time!
The drinks were absolutely incredible. I would recommend the Sparkling Sangria and the Miss Piggy.
They have an indoor dining area, bar, and a large patio. The atmosphere is very easy going. Their happy hour is daily from 4:40 -6:30 p.m.
It would be wise to make a reservation before you go. It tends to be packed.
