275.12 Sunset at the 360 Bridge Overlook

Free things to do in Austin, Outside, Things To Do In Austin | 1 Oct 2012

The air is a changin’ and this change of seasons makes me want to get outside and enjoy the crisp fall air.

The 360 bridge overlook hike is one of my favorite hikes in Austin. It is a very, very short hike but it is slightly steep yet very manageable. To get to the top would take ten minutes max. Last time I was there, I saw a very pregnant person at the top, so didn’t get intimidated by the hike.

Once you reach the top it boasts one of the absolute best views in Austin. While I have been up there countless times, it truly takes my breath away sometimes when I get to the top. It is always a beautiful view but if you really want to see it at its best sunset is the time to go. There is something about watching the sun go down from up there that just makes you appreciate Austin a little more.

Happy 30th Anniversary to my parents! Ali and I couldn’t ask for better role models in life and love.

For those who don’t know, could you leave better details of how to get to the trail? Thanks!

You park right before the bridge, and there’s a little path from there that goes through the trees and turns left and up rocks.

Did it last night. Thanks for the tip!

As a note.. there are now NO PARKING signs along that area on both sides of the roadway. So now you risk getting towed/ticketed. Use caution and be sneaky/fast for your pics.
