The day has finally arrived for the nation’s oldest kite festival in Zilker Park! This is one of the best events in Austin every year. It’s a great family festival, and one that everyone can enjoy.

You can fly a kite just for fun, or you can participate in one of the free contests.

Highest Angle Kite, 
Steadiest Kite
, Strongest Pulling Kite
, Smallest Kite, 
Most Unusual Kite, 
Largest Kite
, Oldest and Youngest Kite Flier

It truly is such a fun day at Zilker. On top of more kites than you can imagine, they also plenty of concessions. Plan on plenty of your favorite vendors to be out there with your favorite treats.

Warning: parking is a major issue! This festival always draws a crowd, so plan to ride your bike or take one of the shuttles.
