Pet Of The Week: Peaches

Yesterday I got great news, Rajah our first Pet of The Week was adopted. Thank you so much for all the shares as you helped another animal find its furever home and this is what Pet of The Week is all about!

This week Peaches! A 3 year old, spayed American Pit Bull Terrier.

A615820.003.D

Has been cared for by Austin Animal Center and their Volunteer driven group, Hard Luck Hounds since December 13th 2011 !!

Three-year-old Peaches is full of energy and sometimes seems to be looking for someone when you have her out — maybe the person who gave her a home for a few months before deciding she was not a good fit for a senior citizen. She is a petite, pretty smart girl who’ll hop up on a bench and snuggle next to the right person. Peaches would love someone who will help her channel her energy and to use her active mind with training, exercise and games like puzzle toys. Her former adopter reported that she is housebroken and calm indoors, and that she is playful, respectful and usually tolerant around children. But she was kept mostly outdoors, and her person said she could be barky and destroy things outside — we are guessing out of boredom or loneliness. She hasn’t been around cats but her person reported she chased squirrels and rabbits. We think she might do best as an only fur-child. She’ll be enough to fill your home with fun and love

She is at the shelter  or you can contact Hard Luck Hound founder at:

I am a realtor here in Austin, and clients are always asking for suggestions on what to do around town. So, I thought I would blog about my experiences, recommendations and what you have to do before you can call yourself a true Austinite.
