7.14 Rosita's Al Pastor Taco Stand

We’ve started a tradition in our office called ‘Taco Mondays.’ We know, ‘Taco Tuesdays’ is the more popular nomenclature; but knowing that the first thing you’re going to do on a Monday morning is find a new place for tacos is a great way to start your week.

Al Pastor Austin

This week, we tried Rosita’s Al Pastor, and it was a taco game changer; well worthy of a ‘Trailer Tuesday’ post… noticing a trend here? We’ll eventually have names for everyday of the week.

Finding the place is half the battle. It’s about a half mile East of 35 on Riverside Drive. The unmarked white trailer sits directly below a large sign for the brick and mortar, Rosita’s Al Pastor Restaurant.

We tried a few different styles of breakfast tacos, as well as a fajita taco, and two of the famous al pastor. The tortilla is the first thing you’ll notice when biting into one of these bad-boys; they’re made to order (yes, right there in the trailer) and are perfectly thick and chewy. The al pastor tacos (on corn tortillas of course) were some of the best I’ve had in Austin, and from what I’ve heard from self-proclaimed experts on Yelp, they’re also some of the “most authentic” tacos you’re likely to find in the city.

Disclaimer: Not totally sure what the official name of this place is… Rosita’s is on the billboard but everywhere else it’s just titled ‘Al Pastor.’
