Wimberley Market Days

Wimberley hosts Market Days, the oldest outdoor market in the Texas Hill Country and the second-largest in the state. With over 475 booths, tree-shaded paths, live music and food and drinks, there is something to delight all ages.

Hours: The market is open the first Saturday of each month, month March through December, from 7 am – 4 pm.
Cost: Admission is free.

Emily Ann Theater

Take a summer stroll through the 12 acres of park-like grounds at the Emily Ann Theater to enjoy the gardens, play in the life-size chess/checker board and interactive musical garden, spend time bird and butterfly watching, eat a picnic lunch, visit the Veterans Memorial Plaza or simply enjoy the peaceful environment of the grounds. There are three performances taking places this summer:

  • Shrek takes place June 3 – July 3, 2016 on the Outdoor Stage (Fri & Sat 8:15pm; Sunday the 3rd)
  • An indoor performance of Cinderella takes place July 9-31, 2016 (Saturdays at 10 am; Sundays at 2 pm)
  • Shakespeare Under the Stars takes place outdoors, featuring A Midsummer Night’s Dream from August 4-13, 2016 at 8:15pm

Cost: Free to explore grounds; ticket prices vary, depending on performance

Blue Hole Regional Park

Blue Hole Park encompasses approximately 3.5 miles of trails, picnic areas, a community pavilion, playscape, basketball court, sand volleyball court, amphitheater, and the Blue Hole Swimming Area. Note: When the swimming area reaches capacity, common in the summer months, it will be closed for a minimum of 2 hours and there will be no further admittance. You can call before you leave to get an update on whether the Park is full. Free, one-hour guided hikes take place the second Saturday of the month.

Cost for Swimming Area: Adult (13-59) $9; Youth (4-12), Service Member/Veteran and Senior (60+) $5; Children (0-3) FREE

Jacob’s Well

Jacob’s Well Natural Area is an artesian spring located just outside of Wimberley. The water is pushed forth naturally from the Trinity Aquifer roughly 140 feet below the surface. In addition to swimming and hiking in the area, Jacob’s Well Natural Area offers free tours each Saturday morning at 10:30am led by local Master Naturalists. Reservations must be made in advance for swimming. Note: This is an activity best for older kids who are seasoned swimmers. Read more about Jacob’s Well here.
