Contemporary Austin’s Second Saturdays are for Families

It’s hot in Austin! Beat the heat with an icy workshop. Recommended for ages 2–11, kids will make a colorful painting using ice cubes, then watch professional ice sculptor Sean Leahy create a one-of-a-kind work of art before your eyes.

BookPeople’s 186 Annual 2nd Time Ever Book Carnival

Mueller Back to School Bash

Mueller is throwing a Back to School Bash to celebrate the new school year. The FREE event will include snacks, free school supplies, and activities including a photo booth, obstacle course, live music, face painting, balloon artist, hair coloring station and more.

Robin Hood and Maid Marian’s Wedding

When: Saturday, August 13 & Sunday, August 14 at 11 a.m.

Where: Scottish Rite Theater, 207 W. 18th Street

Come witness live sword fighting and live archery as Robin Hood’s merry band of outlaws bring the legendary Forest of Sherwood alive in this original play by the creators of Sherwood Forest Faire. The Faire’s official cast will perform this hilarious, action-packed wedding in partnership with the historic Austin Scottish Rite Theater, where 19th Century architecture and original hand-painted set pieces make the perfect setting for the classic tales of Robin Hood. Recommended for all ages. Tickets: $12 adults, $8 children.
