2016 Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival

by -

It’s time again for the world’s largest hot sauce festival! Austin takes salsa very seriously, so the competition is going to be (quite literally) heating up today.

Come hungry! The 26th-annual hot sauce contest has three levels of competition: individuals (homemade), restaurants, and commercial bottlers. They will also have plenty of food vendors including Amy’s Ice Cream, Curra’s Grill, Garbo’s Lobster Truck, and more serving up their specialty dishes. Plus there is great live music all day and a craft beer tent where you can wash down it all down and give your mouth a much-needed break.

Not only is this event a ton of fun, it also benefits a wonderful cause. Admission is free with donation of three healthy, nonperishable food items or cash donation to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.
