What to Expect at ACL Fest This Year

If you’ve been to ACL Fest over the years, you know they are constantly tweaking the experience to make it better for fans. In that grand tradition, organizers have just announced a bunch of new amenities and changes to the layout.

The new fancy stuff includes enhanced Platinum amenities—because that Platinum life just gets better and better: Platinum ticketholders will also have an exclusive viewing area in front of the main stages, a new lounge located in the northeast area of Zilker Park with a private, elevated viewing deck, side stage viewing platforms at the two main stages, and food from award-winning chefs.

Us peasants can get excited about the new wine tent (I want to go to there) which will be a shaded haven with a selection of wines from around the world. You can chill with a nice bottle of wine, cold glass of bubbly, and nibble on a delicious bite. Plus a new silent disco has been added to the schedule for both weekends. Each night from 8-10 p.m. at the Tito’s Stage, you can slip on a pair of supplied headphones and quietly groove to tunes from live DJs.

Layout-wise, there’s a new entrance gate and repositioned stages that they are hoping will create better crowd flow and avoid sound bleed issues. Now you’ll be able to enter at one of three places: the existing Lady Bird Lake Entrance, a Barton Springs East entrance, and a Barton Springs West Entrance. There will also be an additional Box Office. The festival area across Barton Springs Road, typically used for the ACL Fest Box Office, will be incorporated as part of the main festival grounds, and will host one of eight stages, as well as food and bar options.

If you are still on the fence about the fest this year, here is the rundown:

It’s taking place October 6-8 and October 13-15. On both weekends, fans will see performances from JAY-Z, Martin Garrix, The xx, Ryan Adams, Solange, FOSTER THE PEOPLE, and more on Friday, while Saturday’s festivities include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chance The Rapper, ICE CUBE, Spoon, Tove Lo, A$AP Ferg and much more. The Killers, Gorillaz, Run The Jewels, The Head and the Heart, Vance Joy, ZHU and Milky Chance will close out Sunday night on each weekend. This year’s performance schedule is available here.

General Admission 3-Day Tickets for Weekend Two are still available, while only General Admission 1-Day Tickets for Friday and Sunday are available for Weekend One and Two here. 3-Day and 1-Day VIP Tickets, 3-Day & 1-Day Platinum Tickets, as well as Hotel Packages for both weekends are also available. Music fans ages 10 and under will be admitted free of charge accompanied by a ticketed adult.
