We have a lot of new Austinites these days, and to you newbies we say: You haven’t really lived in Texas until you’ve been to the rodeo! Put on your shiniest belt buckle and your special-occasion boots and head over to the Rodeo Austin grounds for their newest offering called Bulltober Fest. This is an Austin original event featuring beer, food trucks, live music, and outdoor festival fun.
And because it’s a rodeo afterall, Bulltober Fest will feature the original battle of man vs. beast—American Freestyle Bullfighting by Bullfighters Only. This intense competition showcases the top twelve ultimate bullfighters facing off against the toughest bulls around in a bracket-style tournament for their chance at $25,000.
Food trucks at the fest will include: Wagyu on Wheels, Gebby’s BBQ, Texas Chili Queens, and The Green Machine. And there will be two live concerts by Troy Cartwright and Dirty River Boys after the bullfighting performance.
Proceeds from Bulltober Fest go toward Rodeo Austin’s mission of Promoting Youth Education—Preserving Western Heritage. In 2017, Rodeo Austin awarded more than $2 million to the youth of Texas.
