Austin is known for live music and amazing food, but another great place for family fun is ZACH Theatre. ZACH is the longest continually-running theatre company in Texas and offers a dynamic range of programming each year.
The Theatre’s 2019-20 season roared to life with Jungalbook, which runs through December 14, and features vibrant costumes and playful puppetry. Wake up, Brother Bear, a unique and intimate production geared at children 6 and under, runs through December 22.
The curtain opens next week on ZACH’s holiday shows, with a vibrant adaptation of A Christmas Carol, the irreverent and hilarious Santaland Diaries, and the family sing-along Holiday Heroes.
A Christmas Carol – November 20 – December 29
The ZACH-inspired adaptation of Dickens’ timeless classic is infused with music that spans time and genres to appeal to everyone in your family. Dance in the aisles while celebrating with the Cratchits and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
Age recommendation: 6 and up. No one under the age of three will be allowed in the theatre. All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
Santaland Diaries – November 29 – December 29
An irreverent and cynical Macy’s elf named Crumpet takes the audience on a rollicking, not so politically correct ride through the holiday season as experienced by a department store elf. Recommended for ages 14 and up because of adult humor.
Age recommendation: 14 and up for adult humor.
Holiday Heroes – December 7 – 14
This fun holiday sing-a-long is great for ages 3 and up and will get the entire family into the holiday spirit.
Age recommendation: 3 and up. All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

A Night with Janis Joplin, January 29 – March 8
